57th Grammy Awards Round-Up

Started with a bang, ended with a snooze.

As many of you are aware, last night was the 57th Annual Grammy Award Show, featuring the best and brightest names in the music industry. It sure seemed that way in the beginning as legendary rock group AC/DC started the show with a bang, playing a couple of their massive hits and bringing the entire audience to their feet.

However, as the night went on, that energy began to slowly fade. Sure there were some highlights and incredible performances– see Ed Sheeran and the ELO & Hozier with Annie Lennox (she’s still got it!)– but for the most part, the famed award show hit plenty of lows. Led by a number of lackluster, slow tempo, gospel-like performances, the music seemed to slow down, and thus so did the mood, as the night went out.

With that being said, similar to last years Grammy round-up, we will highlight the winners from last nights major categories with some of the best cover performances of that song from the past year. We hope you enjoy!

Best Dance Recording: “Rather Be” Clean Bandit ft. Jess Glynne

SNUBBED: Ed Sheeran

I thought for sure going into last night Ed Sheeran would come away with at least one award. I mean, his album X (multiply) has been played on radio stations throughout the year with five songs becoming hit singles. Yet, Sheeran spent his night sadly as just a nominee and not a Grammy winner. However, he did put on one of the best performances of the entire night, so hang your head high Ed, we still love you.
