Outkast- Hey Ya (The Band With No Name Cover)

Impressive is an understatement

Taking on the hit song “Hey Ya” by hip-hop legends Outkast, is Australian based band, The Band With No Name.

Labeling Marvin Gaye as their mentor in the beginning of the video, The Band With No Name pays their tribute with this spectacular cover of Outkast’s “Hey Ya”.  Adding their own twist to the original, The Band With No Name completely reworks “Hey Ya” from an upbeat hip-hop hit into a slowed down, funky jam highlighted by spectacular vocals from front-man Willy Angelo. With a whole different sound from the original, this version provides fans and listeners with a brand new, fresh take on one of hip-hops most well known singles.

The second post today featuring Australian musicians, and one of many posted the past few days, I’m starting to be convinced that Australia is a hot bed for up and coming musicians. This cover by The Band With No Name certainly adds more fuel to that speculation.
