Firefly Spotlight- Cherub

This weeks Firefly Spotlight belongs to electro pop duo, Cherub.

Why Should You Listen?

Representing the historically musical city of Nashville, Tennessee is electro pop duo, Cherub. Founded on the campus of Middle Tennessee State in late 2010, Cherub, consisting of members Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber, has quickly established themselves as one of Tennessee’s premier music acts.

Named one of Paste Magazine’s “12 Tennessee Bands You Should Listen to Now” Cherub went on to have a massive, career defining 2012. Having released their sophomore effort, MoM & DaD early in 2012, to much critical praise, Cherub found their music in high demand, gracing the stages of major music festivals such as Bonnaroo, SXSW, Electric Forrest, and Hangout Music Fest. With their music out to the masses and having played at some of the biggest festivals in the United States, Cherub established a strong reputation as a fun, high energy, and vibrant live act.

Inspired by 80’s post disco funk and pop, Cherub combines the elements of funk, electro, pop, and dance to create their unique, infectious sound. With a large resume of success in such a short period of time, it’s no shock that Cherub landed a spot on the Firefly roster

What To Listen For

Doses & Mimosas

Their smash viral hit off of their 2012 album, MoM and DaD, “Doses & Mimosas” has become Cherubs calling card, establishing itself as a fan favorite and being played at almost all their live shows

Another song off of MoM & DaD, “XOXO” combines super funky melodies with catchy vocals making this song a dance floor hit.

Do I (Where We Are)

Off of their 2013 EP, 100 Bottles, “Do I (Where We Are)” delivers a groovy track that will give your body a hard time keeping still.

Why We’re Excited!

It’s pretty simple to see why we’re excited about Cherub’s performance: They make awesome music, their performances are fun and high in energy, and they’ll have every person within 500 feet of their stage dancing to the music.

If those reasons aren’t enough for you to get excited about Cherub, then I don’t know what will. Come June, they’ll be ready to dominate the stage in Delaware and bring festival goers a performance that will be talked about throughout the weekend!
